Flowerbed Storytime
In 2019 Andover Trees United created an installation in Andover town centre in the form of a Flower Bedroom with a ‘bed’ of flowers, overflowing chest of drawers, flower carpet and of course a bedtime storyteller!
The installation was part of a project, funded by Kew Garden's Grow Wild initiative which focuses on transforming urban and community spaces to increase awareness of our native plants and wildflowers.

For the project I researched and adapted traditional flower themed English folk tales to create interactive storytelling performances in the Flower Bedroom throughout the summer, and at Harmony Woods, where Andover Trees United is based.

I also ran storytelling training workshops for secondary school students at Harrow Way School to enable them to create their own storytelling performances.

Since creating these stories for Andover Trees United's Flowerbed Storytime project, I have enjoyed working with them as a storyteller on a variety of intiatives and events, as well as delivering interactive storytelling and craft workshops for children as part of their Nature Explorers holiday activities.

I am currently mentoring volunteers and interns at Andover Trees United to enable them to create their own nature themed activity workshops for ATU's holiday activity programme.
